Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Travel Buddy ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application built by Filip Frlic. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use Travel Buddy, we collect:
- Account information — your email address, first name, and last name when you register.
- Profile photo — if you choose to upload an avatar, the image is stored securely.
- Trip data — countries visited, trip dates, notes, photos, and optional map pin coordinates that you enter.
- Friends data — connections you make with other users via QR code.
- Device information — push notification token (if you grant permission) to deliver notifications.
- Purchase information — subscription status managed through RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
Camera Permission
Travel Buddy requests access to your camera solely to scan QR codes when adding friends. We do not record video, take photos via the camera, or store any camera data.
Photo Library Permission
Travel Buddy requests access to your photo library only when you choose to upload a profile photo or add photos to a trip. We only access images you explicitly select.
Location
Travel Buddy does not track your real-time location. Any location data (map pins on trips) is entered manually by you and stored as part of your trip records.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Travel Buddy service.
- To sync your data across your devices when you are signed in.
- To enable the friends feature and shared trip visibility.
- To send push notifications you have opted into (e.g. friend request alerts).
- To process and verify your subscription status.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in the EU. We use industry-standard security practices including row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.
Third-Party Services
Travel Buddy uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management.
- Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring (no personal data is intentionally sent).
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for subscriptions.
Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data — trips, photos, friends, and visited countries — from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
Travel Buddy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
